- A CP4 “disaster prevention kit” for the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke is designed to protect your fuel system from catastrophic CP4 high pressure pump failure by catching metal debris before it reaches injectors, rails, and the fuel tank. These kits don’t stop the pump from failing, but they dramatically reduce the repair cost if it does. ———————————————————————————————- Core Components • Billet return-side filter head • Accepts a standard spin-on fuel filter (usually a Donaldson P550943, 9-micron, 99% efficiency). • Captures metal debris coming from a failing CP4 pump before it reaches the tank. • Spin-on fuel filter (Donaldson P550943) • High-efficiency filter included with most kits. • OE-style quick-connect fuel lines • Pre-made lines for easy installation and proper routing. • Includes a fuel supply split-off located ~25 inches from the CP4 pump to reduce contamination risk. • Bypass/return filtration system • Routes CP4 return fuel through the added filter before it goes back to the tank. • Prevents debris from circulating through the entire fuel system.
- Inspected oil leak and found oil leaking onto bell housing area and dripping down to pan area, using camera found oil leak looks to be originating from Valley of motor area. Tear down is needed to verify oil leak source. In process of tear down, recommend replacement of CCV filter and various gaskets needed. Oil leak looks to be mainly originating from Turbo pedestal area, cab removal is required to repair oil leaks, recommending replacement of CCV filter and related gaskets as well as replacing Turbo pedestal and gaskets, and installing a "disaster prevention kit" to save fuel system when CP4 fuel pump fails due to mileage.
- Remove oil filter adapter, clean block and oil filter adapter Re install with new gasket.
