- We first checked the vehicle for a crank and no start problem and found that the battery was dead. We then charged the battery and we where able to verify that the engine would crank but would not start. We then scanned for codes and found P0689 ignition relay feed back circuit low, and P1682 ignition 1 switch circuit 2. We then found a bad connection in the fuse box internally. We soldered the poor connection and installed the fuse box. We then connected the battery and heard a fuse blow. The fuse was for the switched power the the ecm. We then pulled the engine harness away from the engine and found a sharp edge on the cylinder head that the harness was chafing against and cut into the harness and shorted the power wire for the ecm. We then repaired the harness and wrapped that portion of the harness with a gard to protect the harness from chafing again. We then replaced the fuse, cleared the DTCs, and test drove the. Vehicle for 7 miles and found no further problems at this time.
