- We removed the fuel filter and found it full of DEF fluid. We flushed out the fuel rail, flushed out the fuel lines and flushed out the dosing injector. We then removed the fuel tank ,and primary fuel filter, and water seperator. We siphoned out the contaminated fuel, removed the fuel pump and cleaned out the fuel tank. We then re installed the fuel tank and put 20 gal. of fresh fuel and primed the fuel system. We started the truck and brought it up to opperating temp and found it runs according to spec. We then test drove the vehicle and drained the fuel/water seperator and found no more contamination in the fuel system.
