- We first scanned for codes and found P0456 EVAP system small leak. We then smoke tested the vehicle and did not find any leaks, and found that the evap system held pressure. We then checked the purge valve for operation and found that when we commanded the valve open it did not respond. We then removed the valve and manually applied power and ground and found that the solenoid clicked over but the valve remained closed. Based on these tests it confirms that the purge valve is faulty. We recommend replacing the purge valve.
