- After visually inspecting the power steering system we found that the pump was over filled with fluid. We then found that even with the correct amount of fluid the pump is still making noise. We also found that a repair was attempted on one of the power steering lines by cutting a rubber hose out and hose clamping a new one in its place. At this time we do not believe the steering rack is leaking but we will not know for sure until the reapir is made. We are recommending replacing the power steering pump because it is humming, serpentine belt because it is cracking, and both pressure and return lines due to the previous repair attempts.
