Battery dead, charged battery and tested okay at this time. Vehicle still would not start. Scanned and found multiple no communication codes with diffrent modules. Checked fuses and found mega fuse #9 broken. This fuse is the main fuse for the body control module, replaced the fuse and vehicle now starts, test drove vehicle and scanned no codes present at this time. All components are working normally at this time. Charging 14.3 volts.

Check engine light on, P194A00 coolant pump rpm to high. P16C600 heater support pump dry running. Found coolant reservoir empty and coolant splashed all over the front of the engine, noticed water pump pulley is not aligned with the other pulleys. Added water and leaks badly without pressure. Rec replacing the water pump, t stat and belt to start. Clear codes, pressure test and block test to confirm no other cooling concerns. Vehicle also due for a oil service.

P0332 knock sensor 2 signal short / low. Tied in a lab scope to the knock sensor harness and lightly tapped the engine. The scope showed the sensor would intermittently pickup the vibrations throughout the engine. Cause would be a faulty sensor or a poor connection, knock sensors are located under the intake manifold. Rec replacing both knock sensors with the harness, intake and throttle body gasket.

We tried to verify the customer complaint but found the engine does not crank. We checked for power and ground at the starter and found both are present. We then manually supplied voltage to the starter solenoid and found the starter is internally shorted. These tests confirm that the starter is faulty. We recommend replacing the starter for further diagnosis of the engine ticking noise.
Replaced the starter assembly, vehicle now starts and a loud noise comes from the pulley area, also noticed no engine oil on dipstick and is low on coolant. Engine idle is low and runs rough. Added 2 quarts of blended 5w-30. Started vehicle and used my steathascope and all components driven by the serp belt make noise, the loudest is the water pump. Removed belt and noise goes away, use a mirror to inspect the bottom of the water pump and has very heavy tracing, water pump has been leaking for a while. Rec throttle body service and water pump, t stat and rad cap replacement to start. Vehicle will need attention in other areas.
Perform a throttle body service because the throttle body is dirty.
