We then checked for voltage at cylinders 1,7,4,6 which are the injectors in group 1 and found no voltage was not present we then checked the connectors at the injectors and found no faults. We checked the fuses and found that the fuses are not blown. We then inspected the wiring harness for any rodent damage and didn't find any faults. We then checked the main engine harness connector and found the pin for group 1 injectors was loose and pushed back. We disassembled the plug replaced the pin and locked the new pin in place. We then test drove the vehicle and found that the customers concerns where gone and no codes returned.

    • We first scanned for codes and found P0456 EVAP system small leak. We then smoke tested the vehicle and did not find any leaks, and found that the evap system held pressure. We then checked the purge valve for operation and found that when we commanded the valve open it did not respond. We then removed the valve and manually applied power and ground and found that the solenoid clicked over but the valve remained closed. Based on these tests it confirms that the purge valve is faulty. We recommend replacing the purge valve.
